I´ve already talked about Yokai Watch Gakuen, but I have been rewatching the series and I have to admit that now I enjoy season 3, I just needed to rewatch so I could understand everything, but yeah, go watch Gakuen, you won´t regret it!

I was also pleased with the nod krai stream! Honestly was confused when I saw lore theorist ashikai bent outta shape about it. I don't watch her much anymore but oh boy people were very confused with her doomposting about it. I'm just excited we can maybe finally see lore not just in a five star weapon or xbox exclusive wing gliders but also in the story. Honestly it was nice to see at least some of the dev team thought process too ^^ CANT WAIT TO MAYBE SEE LAWYER KAEYA

i didnt want to address her again, i had enough ppl coming to argue to my inbox, but like the "lore" videos like that are huge part of the problem. i dont actually watch her, so im gonna talk about the video i got sent which is fontaine quest predictions, in which the only viable thing she said was that fontaine ppl are oceanids. which is very fucking obvious if u care to pay attention! i have a post saying this exact thing right after first act of fontaine. and everything else in that video is wild conspiracy theories based on nothing, that actually HINDER ppl's understanding of fontaine story. she said that making human form is the original sin bc primordial one just loves humans so much, which is bullshit, all creatures all over over teyvat take human form, from adepti to yokai. its using the primordial sin resources that was actually punished, which ties with decolonization theme, celesta didnt care if egeria made her oceanids into humans or pokemons, what mattered is the use of resources. and like if u listen to the shit she says about the whale, it just makes it absolutely hilaroius. celestia made a whale to mock neuvi??? who is not even a whale??? and his constellation is called leviathan bc he just came up with it to sound cool to melusines, bc he dsoesn't even have a constellation. like asdfghjkl;

tldr i'm glad hoyo will be more clear and accessible in their lore and its obvious why genshin conspiracy theories youtubers are mad about it

The spooky month is upon us!

But before I begin my plans for Halloween festivities, I'd like to introduce you all to last year's Halloween yokai! These are some the first fankai I ever made and post(so go easy on them. XP)

First up, the vampire nemesis, Dracula and Desperatu!

These boys are my interpretations of characters from Bram stokers world famous Gothic horror novel, Dracula!

The titular character has already been name dropped in yokai watch before, however he has not made an on-screen appearance. So I corrected that~!

Dracula is an S rank, drain attribute of the shady tribe, with the soultimate "blood moon blitz" where he transforms into a swarm of bats to drain his opponents vitality!

Now the other guy is a bit more inspired! Desperatu is a portmanteau of Desperado(a term often used in wild west stories) and Nosfuratu(another word for Vampire). This Gothic cowboy is the spirit of Quincy P. Morris, which if you've actually read Dracula, you'd know as the man who got the killing blow on old drac!

Being a walking representation of the state of Texas, I played up his already present cowboy influence, and made him a vampire-hunting, cowboy vampire!

Desperatu is an S rank yokai of the brave tribe. He's a Merican yokai, a fire attribute, and has the soultimate "high moon showdown!" Where he fires of six shots from each of his silver-bullet-loaded guns.

If I were to ever make a game, these guys would be the Kyubi/venoct, Arachnus/toadel dude equivalents.

With the vamps out of the way, here's a werewolf! Or should I say, Blairwolf!

By day a young girl named Blair akafudo is a sporty outdoorsman with some mild canine quirks. But by night she's the fierce and a strong Blairwolf!

Like Dracula, we know werewolves exist in yokai watch, we've just never seen them. Though there was an academy Y episode that had weredog/jinmenkin hybrids. Speaking of hybrids, Blair also has some inspiration from the Okuri Inu, a ghostly black dog with piercing red eyes.

But despite her fierce inspiration, she's more like a were-puppy than anything. She's loyal, fun-loving and very affectionate toward her friends!

Blairwolf is D rank, earth attribute of the charming tribe. Her soultimate is called "Lycan-throw" where she digs up a Boulder to throw at her unsuspecting opponents!

Moving on to the next of the big three monsters, time for Frankenstein!

Say hello to Adam Frankenstein, the famous monster from Mary Shelly's sci-fi horror novel! Along with his shadowside form, Krankenstein!

The two forms represent the juxtaposition between the Monster in the book, who was an intelligent, tragic figure abandoned by his creator for his imperfect eyes, from the monster in the movie, which was a hulking, mindless brute.

Adam is normally intelligent and reasonable, but... he has quite the explosive temper if you can get him angry.

In both forms, he is an A rank, lightning attribute of the Eerie tribe. In his lightside, his soultimate is "Charged Adam" which boosts his stats. While his shadowside's is called "ITS ALIVE!" which boosts the entire parties stats!

Next are a more generic monster, a redesign I made of yokai watch style Zombies!

While I love yokai watch 3 and think zombie night was a brilliant idea, I can't say I've always liked their basic Zombie designs. The core part of a Zombie that makes them scary is they still resemble a human, and the yokai watch ones do, just not enough.

So, I ended up making more humanish Zombie designs. You could interpret these ones as more recently deceased then the ones in Canon. Haven't had as much time to rot just yet!

Next up, the spirit of Halloween himself, Stingy Jack/Jack O'Lantern!

The spirit of the man who managed to trick the devil herself, now forced to wonder the earth by lanterns light. Everyone's heard of this pumpkin headed freak in some way or other, even if they don't know his story.

Jack here is a C rank of the shady tribe. A fire attribute with the soultimate "lose your head!" Where he used the alcohol swishing around in his pumpkin head to make it into a molotov cocktail, and throws it at the enemy!

This of course also acts as a self destruct soultimate, because he doesn't have a head after using it. XP

And finally, a yokai late to the batch, but still fitting the Halloween vibes! Here's Potianna!

Ending things off with a wicked witch, Potianna (potion+anna) was one of the best potion brewers of her time, before the witch hunts finally caught up with her.

Now as yokai, she's fused to her beloved cauldron and keeps up her prized work~!

Potianna is a C rank, water attribute of the charming tribe. Her soultimate is called "Brutal Brew" where she dumps her cauldron onto the enemy team, both dealing damage and giving them a random debuff.

She also has a unique skill, "Alchemy" which heals her up every time she's hit with her own element!

Newcomers to GeGeGe no Kitaro trough GeGeGe no Nazo must be having a wild ride. You saw a buddy cop style movie with two guys : yokai (Gegero) and human (Mizuki) meeting and investigating a dark secret related to the disappearance of Gegero's wife. On the way they formed a deep bond and Mizuki ended up adopting Gegero's newborn baby after tragic events befell the yokai couple. The ending is mostly happy, but leaves a lot of question, you still want to see how human guy's life with the child will be, the hardship they'll have to face, the many heartfelt moments they'll share with each other. Then you found out this movie is part of a pretty big franchise in Japan that has seen a bunch of adaptations, none of which are fully translated sans for the 2018 series. Fortunately, that series shares the same continuity which the movie above. It seems you hit the jackpot. But then you watch it and Mizuki is only mention in passing once in a while, in fact you don't even know what became of him. The story instead focuses on the baby who has now grown up to a ten-something in terms of look boy (Kitaro) and his adventure fighting evil yokai to protect humans. So you started digging a little bit and found out Mizuki, and therefore Kitaro's birth has not been explored much in animated form save the mini series Hakaba Kitaro. Even then, this adaptation is very faithful to the early manga. As such, everything (the setting, the story, the personality) and most importantly Mizuki and Kitaro's relationship appears so, for lack of a better world, cold and distant from what you envision you may even dislike it. Though, if it manages to keep you interested, it's still not to bad: you have a bunch of contents to digest and won't gets bored easily considering every adaptation do thing a little differently.

Onto Hisui, the kinda gen 8, gen 4, almost gen 9, maybe gen 8.4.2.5.7 starters?

So I'm not going to do a full in depth review on each base starter again and their mid evolution- all you need to know that it is a sheer fucking coincidence that they picked all three of my favorite starters to be the starters for this gen. What a wild concept. Like Galar's starters sucked so bad, they had to call in back up from the previous gens just to keep the entire gen from becoming a trash fire- even Rowlet, who barely hung its hat up after gen 7 and Isle of Armor.

And saved they did. This crew is pretty strange and unique, but not unwelcome, and not unseen before- just mainly in fan games. The concept of taking 3 starters that normally have zero to do with each other and unifying them with a shared concept and variant evolutions is just... peak creativity. Something new out of something old without a gimmick that can be easily discarded, just brilliant.

I can do a group review of the final evolutions, because GOD that's such a fun idea and they look so cool. So how do you unify three random starters? You tie them together to the place they are roaming, aka the wilds of Hokaido circa 200 years ago. A ronin, a corrupted samurai, and what I think is either a priest or a yokai. Just brilliant stuff here. The colors invoke an timely view of the old world, and each sort of have their own level of mysticism about them, and have shared hues of red- almost like maple leaves, blood, or a blood moon. Or, more specifically, DEATH in various aspects, which Hisui isn't shy about touching. God, I love these guys. I really do. 9.5/10.

Individual reviews under the cut

Hisuian Decidueye isn't quite as cool as regular, but the only thing that's really throwing me off is the smaller wings in comparison to normal. Otherwise, this is a fantastic re-imagining of Decidueye that does something that hasn't been done with other grass starters: A *fall* color scheme. In the whole "Death" scenario, the leaves are dying, as is the age of Samurai, which would be somewhere around the same time period that Legends Arceus would take place in, and being a Ronin, Decidueye would essentially be a traveling *masterless* samurai. Ironically, considering the death motif, it leaves the ghost type behind and embraces the FIGHTING type- as if he's going down swinging while he's still got fight left in him, or he's fighting to survive the Hisuian wilderness. There's a lot that could be said to really amp up why I love this guy, and I'm still waiting for a good excuse to use him some day. 8/10.

Hisuian Typhlosion didn't immediately click with me until I saw it in action and I saw it in artwork. It's very similar to regular Typhlosion in which you need the proper angle to truly appreciate it, and appreciate it I do after using it as a transfer starter for my run in Kitakami. If the Hisuian starter trio are based around death, you can't get much more death related than being a ghost. Specifically, Hyphlosion could based on the "Night Parade of 100 Demons," particularly with its move "Infernal Parade," but also could have inspiration from old Japanese priests, particularly from the bead-like necklace of fire around its neck. Interestingly, as a ghost, it's particularly benevolent and purifies spirits with its flames before guiding them to the next world- according to the dex, anyway. Any way you look at it, it's a very different take to normal Typhlosion, but it's a pretty valid and cool one imo. The wispy flames are super unique and mesmerizing to watch. The overall purple coat and lighter tanned belly may in fact be a reference to Typhlosion's old shiny palette in GSC, which sported a similar coloration. I do with the ears were more perked up and that it was easier to see the cooler side of it, but honestly I just like this sleepy boy no matter what. 9/10, Typhlosion was my first Pokemon and it'll always have a spot in my heart no matter what it looks like, and Hyphlosion came just when it needed to to save fire starters.

Hisuian Samurott is probably my favorite starter of all time, now, because it basically just improves everything stylistically I love about OG Samurott and takes it even further. It is a little strange that Samurott, an already Japanese inspired Pokemon, gets a more Japnese form, but I'll take what I can get considering the state of starters at the time. This Samurott may be based on the *corrupt* Samurai, those that get drunk on power and demand others do as they say, or *die* in the streets- hence the dark type, and hence why red streaks line it's black armor- representative of blood shed by civilians that dare go against its rule, and further implicated by its signature move- Ceaseless Edge, an onslaught of slices without mercy. I think there could also be a further influence from the infamous Muramasa sword mythos- that is, swords forged so well by a single blacksmith that people claimed they were possessed or forged by *demons*, because of how well and how many they killed. Dark is the "evil" type in Japan, after all. Regardless of all of that, This is seriously such a cool Pokemon design and an ideal starter design overall, because it can move on land and in water quite decently. I think if I have a gripe, a singular one, it is simply that I would prefer black claws, but red is a fine enough color as it is. That, and maybe I'd wish it wasn't so slow. 9/10, my favorite starter at the moment, so much so I purposely bred for a shiny to use again in Blueberry Academy, and it came back just when needed to save water starters from being ugly.

God, I love these guys. I hope the ZA trio turns out as good as these guys.

Next and finally will be the SV starters... Unless anyone wants me to purposely do one for something like Pikachu, Eevee, and the Eeveelutions for Orre.

im working on editing/posting the remaining chapters and also posting my second fic, but with my quarter ending next week and being knee-deep in finals (art school RIP) it might be a little slow.

Mei can hear her father’s voice in her head almost every second of every day. His tone is sharp, pointing, and disappointed. 

“Conceal yourself,” He would say, when her emotions got the best of her. “This is not how a Dragon behaves.” 

She could often shove his voice aside. Xiaotan was as impulsive and loud as she was, his energy was always something she could bounce off of instead of shove down. He was her best friend, her rock, and something she could depend on. He made her life better, made her father’s voice a little quieter. 

She loved her father, truly, but he made her chest ache. She couldn’t relax, or be herself around him like she could around Xiaotan. It exhausted her. 

Maybe that’s why she needs to prove herself to her friend.

Xiaotan is a true warrior– everything Mei wants to be. He’s strong and courageous and the picture perfect example of a successor. He’s everything Mei should be. He handles his powers with ease and controls his wild, crazed abilities. Even when his yokai form tempts and pulls at his mind, he can root himself in reality and carry on swinging. He is protective, empathetic, and perfect. He’s everything Mei needs to be. 

She watches Xiaotan and his mentor, his almost father. She watches as they play and spar and exist together. She hears her father’s voice and begins to feel something else towards Xiaotan. Something sick and twisted, like a slime crawling its way across her skin. 

Jealousy. 

Mei reaches a hand underneath her tee shirt, thumbing under the center gore of her bra wire and to the ridged scar that lies on her sternum. A constant marr on her body from the Samadhi Fire. It seems to heat under her touch as she watches Xiaotan shove the heel of his palm through the Monkey King’s defense, cackling at their intricate dance. She presses her hand over the old, healed wound as it thrums in time with the lilts in Wukong’s laughter. Her lips turn down, a familiar anger setting into her body. White hot and almost comfortable. 

She stands, suddenly and with a little too much power. Her chest aches, but for some reason the harsh movements quell the constant pain. Xiaotan looks to her as she moves, stalling in his sparring, and she plasters on her signature grin. Her canines poke out over her bottom lip now, catching the skin and scratching ever so slightly. She relishes in the momentary prick. 

Conceal yourself. 

“I’m headin’ out, MK!” She yawns, stretching her arms above her head and rising to the balls of her feet. “Red Boy wanted me over at his dojo hours ago. Don’t wanna make him any more flame-ey then he already is.” She wiggles her fingers by her hair, making a poof sound as she crosses her eyes. Xiaotan chuckles as he bounds over, a hand on her forearm. 

He’s warm. A radiating sun. 

���Yeah, yeah, you’re using him as an excuse to ditch.” He sticks his tongue out at her, playful, and she dramatically pinches her fingers at his tongue, to which he yelps and swats at her hand. 

“No, but I’m sorry if we kept you,” Xiaotan looks towards the horizon at the darkening sky. “It is late, and we didn’t even movie binge!” 

Mei doesn’t miss the genuine whine in his voice. The constant care and empathy. The kindness pouring out from him in every form. She leverages her height against him and shoves her hands through his hair, pushing his bandana away from his forehead as her fingers tug at the root of his curls. Xiaotan protests very, very vocally, and they stay there for a moment. Tangled together. 

“We can go all in on Monkey Cop this weekend!” Mei releases Xiaotan as she smiles, sure that he’s content with her words. She looks over her shoulder for a moment and meets Wukong’s gaze, and feels rage. 

The yokai looks at her with something indiscernible, something cold and distant. His friendly demeanor he has with his descendant is completely dropped with the boy’s back turned, his arms crossed over his open tunic. His tail lashes behind him, disturbing the dust that lays across the cobble and mess that is the training grounds beyond the waterfall. She hasn’t seen him look so untrusting with anyone, rather than Macaque. 

A shiver makes its way up Mei’s spine, remembering the shadow’s death grip on her throat. She break’s Wukong’s gaze, taking out her headphones to pop one in her ear. 

“I’ll see you later, MK.” Mei says, a little softer, keeping her voice away from the demon lurking behind him. “Be careful.”

“I think you’re finally wising up, dragon girl.” Red Son swipes at her again, grinning through panting breaths. 

They’ve been sparring for hours at this point, with sporadic water breaks in between. Mei’s body burns, and she chases it. She hooks her foot around the back of Red Son’s knee and pulls him forward, knocking his balance loose for a second. His arms windmill, and his fingertips sparkle. 

“No fire!” Mei laughs, letting green electricity explode around them as a warning. After the Bone Demon had been driven back underground, Mei and Red Son kept up with their training. The Samadhi Fire, as much as Red Son would hate to admit it, had brought the two closer. Mei feels at ease with Red Son, they’re in a sort of tandem that she hasn’t felt in a long time. 

She remembers the warm sun, Xiaotan, and falters in her attack. Red Son catches her arm by the elbow and yanks her forward, his left hand coming to her shoulder to slam her back onto the mat. 

“I mean–” Red Son continues, his thought process from before resurfacing. “--The Monkey King has always been a shifty figure, I’m just glad to see a day where I’m not the only one to believe it!” 

“What–?” Mei rolls over, jamming her knee into Red Son’s ribs and watching smoke pour from his mouth. “He’s not shifty, he’s just–” 

“A liar?” Red Son hisses, wiggling away from the iron trap that is Mei’s thigh. He throws her back with a kick from underneath so they’re both lying down again, heads facing opposite directions. He traps one of her legs with his own, the arc of his foot pinning her forearm to the mat as he pulls himself to look her in the eye. “A thief? A killer?” 

“You’re all of those things too, y’know!” Mei groans, barring her free arm against his chest. She presses against him, and feels the twin burning from behind his sternum and her own. She pauses, then sighs, letting her head thump against the mat. She taps it twice, and Red Son pulls off of her. 

With her eyes closed, she can’t see him lay next to her, but she can feel heat radiating from her right side. She shifts and dramatically groans until she can lay her head on his chest, which he accepts begrudgingly. Mei loves the contact, borderline needs it, but there’s a different reason. 

Through all of her hair, which is sweaty and mostly plastered to her face, and Red Son’s tank top, she can feel his scar. A trio of flames in a circle going over his chest and puckering as it gets deeper in the center of his ribcage. She breathes in time with him, feeling her own scar tighten over her skin. 

Red Son’s hand comes over her chest, flattening his palm over her sternum. Mei stills, and sighs as he withdraws all the fire from his hand. It feels almost cold against her. 

“Is it still there?” He asks after a pregnant moment, to which she shrugs. 

“I don’t see it going away.” Mei admits. She’s startled when Red Son bolts up from underneath her, letting her slap against the ground. She grasps the back of her head with both hands and kicks up a leg because fuck that hurt, and is about to give him a piece of her mind before–

“Damn him.” Red Son curses, looking at the opposite wall. He flips over his palm and flickers a flame into view, folding his fingers over and letting the fire shoot out from between his digits. 

“Fucking– damn him!” 

“Woah, Red Boy, loosin’ your poise there?” Mei blinks through the growing headache, leaning over his shoulder. “What’s got you hot and bothered?” 

“Don’t–!” His hair licks up at the base, eyes narrowed and furious, before he softens. He folds his legs under him, his hands in the center of his lap. Red Son looks small like this, nothing like the ferocious foe she was once familiar with. 

“...Sun Wukong has been a tyrant in my family since it’s formation.” Red Son doesn’t move his eye from the mats below him, so Mei sits beside him and copies his position. 

“From when my mother and father met, to the pilgrimage, to the Samadhi Fire, to his sealing– the demon has always been there, and I’m frankly sick of it. I’m sick of watching this idiot ruin the lives of the people I lo–” 

Red Son looks up sharply, scanning Mei’s face, before letting his gaze fall to the mat once more. “--the people I care about.” 

Mei lets herself lean back on her palms, stretching her legs out. She looks at the scars and bruises covering her feet and shins, stretching up to her thighs and hiding under her athletic shorts. She can see the barest hint of the Samadhi Fire scar from under her sports bra, raised against her stomach. She thinks of the pain she sees Xiaotan in, all the time, how the rage consumed her when she learned of Wukong’s ploy on the top of that mountain. How he had been playing her best friend like a damned pawn, and she feels heat at her palms. 

“You know what,” she says after a moment of silence, her voice as flat as it’s ever been. “I’m getting sick of it too.”

So if Ghost is a helicopter parent, does that make evil!Ghost/ Dawn an airplane parent? Like a helicopter parent but to the next level? Also how does is it effect Leo, Mikey, Donnie and Raph?

How much are they being influenced by Evil!Ghost, by that I mean do they pick up certain traits or ideals from Dawn? We know that they are cautious about humans but do they secretly want to go out and befriend humans JUST because Dawn told them not to? Or is that too spoilery?

Does Raph still have that idealistic I want to be a hero type of mentality? Does Dawn being their father encourage or discourage Donnie to be more chaotic?

Oh!! And does Dawn let his kids want human movies and tv shows or Yokai ones? Does he dislike majority of humanity or just Bishop??

Evil Ghost/Dawn is less like a helicopter parent and more like the type of parent that would definitely put a GPS anklet tracker on their kid if it was legal. (I mean technically he does have these, the kids all have subcutaneous trackers in them. several.) He's overprotective to the point where his paranoia prevents them from really leaving Draxum's castle unless Dawn's with them, at least until they get older and start having missions.

The boys are raised and trained by Dawn mostly, and trained somewhat by Draxum in later years. The way they've been raised, humans are basically horrible monsters that took over the surface a long time ago and hurt their dad really badly. While they do inherit a lot of Dawn's paranoia about humans and his caution when being out on the surface, they also inherited his curiosity.

What their thoughts on humans are is spoilery. ;)

Raph does want to be a hero! And he's allowed to be! Draxum especially leans into the kids being heroes for yokai-kind and such. Dawn's not so much into the idea of them fighting unless they need to. But they'll be generals, not soldiers. :)

Dawn encourages Donnie's crazy wild side a lot more, especially because Draxum doesn't know much about human technology and kinda just gets Dawn and Donnie whatever they ask for. He still is not allowed to have uranium, mostly because Dawn's scared he's going to get radioactive poisoning.

Dawn hates Bishop. The rest of humanity he believes is just waiting for a chance to be just as cruel. He met many scientists who ignored him or treated him like an object despite him being clearly intelligent, sentient, and aware of what the were doing, as well as being in pain and suffering. He begged for help and no one gave it. So eventually, that mindset of "this is going to be how they all are" came to his mind, and Draxum used that sensitive state of mind to twist things even deeper.

He doesn't like the kids watching human TV shows, he'd rather them watch yokai ones. Or at least ones that don't star human characters. He doesn't want them to get confused and think that humans will be nice to them just because a human in a movie is cool. The kids still find ways to watch some of their favorites, though ;)

Has anyone thought about a 2012 apocalyptic future x Rise apocalyptic future crossover? 🤔

I know this fandom goes wild for future Rise boys x present Rise boys ‘crossovers’ and same for 2012 x Rise crossovers but now I’m really curious to see how the adult turtles from 2012 and then Rise would interact and compare notes when sharing war stories…

One of my reactors on Patreon just reacted to the Mutant Apocalypse arc that I have refused to watch again since it came out because ouch trauma, especially since I thought that was supposed to be the actual ending 🥲

But it makes me realizing when comparing that the 2012 boys didn’t even get to stay together like Rise did, and the Kraang successfully killed all the humans in the mutagen explosion.

The Rise guys at least got to stay together until each one died, but they also had to spend the entire apocalypse still fighting. Which makes it seem like 2012’s predicament is less horrible since their main concern is finding resources and survival, but if you think about that too, in Rise, even though they were fighting so long, the chance/opportunity to kill the Kraang and fix everything was actually an option all that time. They had lasting hope, however fragile and wavering. For 2012 all that stuff seemed pretty permanent. The desert wasteland and civilization gone as it once was… Not only that but they already lost the entirety of the human species which could never come back.

And now that I’m really thinking about it, there are no Kraang around in the post apocalyptic desert, so were they somehow destroyed in that mutagen explosion too, or did the remaining survivors of Earth somehow kill off the Kraang at some point? More likely, maybe after seeing the miserable wasteland that earth became, the Kraang left to go back to Dimension X or start over somewhere else with another planet. Unclear whether the mutagen bomb didn’t work how they wanted it to or maybe after the turtles interfering so much they just wanted to destroy the planet completely as vengeance and move on somewhere else

Now, in both worlds it’s mostly yokai/mutants left as the main population, either left fighting the fight or all the mutants just left surviving. The turtles’ kind became the mainstream population which is a lot to unpack. Despite being mutants and turtles living underground their lifestyles are so derived from how humans lived. Both their Splinter’s were once human and now their former species is (nearly) gone…

I also find the differences in how each group progressed in growing pretty interesting. The Rise turtles got to grow how they were supposed to for the most part, save for Mikey’s advanced aging and if you want to include Leo’s prosthetic arm later on. Whereas, the 2012 turtles vary much more differently in physical form than they’re supposed to and in comparison to each other:

Donnie’s a cyborg with only his human brain left, his body still resembling his teenage body rather than his much older current age

Mikey just barely grew at best, and practically mirrors Rise Mikey’s physical state, unfortunately 2012 didn’t keep his sanity 100% in tact though

And Leonardo was almost completely deformed from taking the brunt of the mutagen bomb and becomes absolutely freaking huge. Like probably bigger than Rise Raph huge

Raph seems to be the only one who grew in (comparatively) the least abnormal and most healthy way, resembling what the rest of his brothers would’ve likely grown to appear as had they not had the different health complications/deformities. He also resembles his Rise counterpart’s body build the most. I know many speculate Rise Raph would’ve only kept getting bigger and bigger as they transitioned into adulthood, and it seems 2012 follows that track as well with how large and aged he is

Not to mention their varying mental health… My god. Again, poor Mikey partially lost his mind, and even though he did have Chompy and Ice Cream Kitty to keep him company all those years it still takes a toll on the psyche to not have anyone around to actually converse with for so long. Out of all his brothers Mikey’s definitely seems like the one to need social contact the most for stability.

Raph can’t remember much of anything from their past life because of the mutagen blast. As far as we can tell he remembers enough about his brothers to see them as such, but we also know he doesn’t even remember Master Splinter, his own father who he knew since infancy

Leo completely lost who he was and forgot who his brothers were, not only that but becoming the very thing that is the complete antithesis of who he is: a villain. One that was rather similar to Shredder at that. And we can’t forget yet another parallel where he almost killed his little brother because he didn’t even know/remember who his little brother was

Donnie seems mostly the same at least when it comes to mental health and keeping a grip on reality, but I’d really like to know his true feelings on losing his physical body and becoming an android. They make it seem like it must not bother him much, and teenage Donnie pre-apocalypse might even find the idea really cool, but we saw how it affected Fugitoid and once that becomes a reality it’s a whole unavoidable mind fuck

Ack. Now I can’t get this out of my head. The adult apocalypse versions of these guys would have so much to talk about and honesty I think meeting more counterparts—especially from apocalyptic timelines —would be such a great comfort to both groups. With how much each side has lost having more family that survived would be a welcomed thing.

I’d love to see some other people or artists’ takes on this because holy crap the potential these apocalyptic universes have in meeting each other is freaking atomic, highly flammable, freaking radioactive

Garu was running around the forest looking for something to hunt and bring back to try and impress Eiden. The wolf boy spotted Lambo and Karu wanted to pounce on the other but Garu told him no. So the wolf yokai just watched and waited

Lambo explored the forest that's close to the Monster Residence. Heard that there's wild deer nearby. Of course, he's cautious since there are other creatures so he goes with light, silent steps (not knowing he's being followed. He's wearing his silver horns.

This is a entry for day 5 of @inuvember event Inuvember 2023 featuring Shippo and Kirara.

The group travel through a dust road as mists clouded the path forward, with Kagome comments, “Boy, it’s like pea soap out here.” Young Shippo ask, “What is pea soap anyway? It must taste bad.” Kagome said, “Well, pea soap is a type of soap that give off stream and it is a saying in my world.”

The group find a village despite how bad the mists are, and Sango said, “I’m surprised that humans would live out here despite the mists.”

A man whose is head of the village by his clothes come before the group and said to them, “Welcome visitors to our humble village. Would you like to stay for the night?” Miroku said to him, “That would be aright, good sir.” The head of the village said, “First thing first, I ask that you don’t let your animal demons inside.” Both Inuyasha and Shippo said in shock, “What?!?” Miroku said to the head of the village, “I understand. They are trained and would not pee on your carpets.” The head of the village start to look upset and said, “No, I must request that you keep your animals outside!” Strangely, Kagome, Miroku, and Sango all said, “Yes, we will leave them outside.”

Inuyasha, Kirara, and Shippo sit outside the house while the others enter the house, with the half dog demon said, “I can’t believe it. I have to stay out here because the head of this village don’t let animals.” Kirara look at where her owner Sango went and Shippo said to her, “Hey, it’s going to be alright, Kirara. How about we spy on them?”

Shippo and Kirara watch through the window as the head of the village skin become smoke and he ask them, “Why did you come here?” Kagome, Miroku, and Sango said in a trance, “We come looking for jewel shards of the Shikon Jewel.” The creature of smoke said, “I see. May I have any jewel shards that you have collect so far?” Kagome get out the jar of jewel shards and was about to hand them to the man before Shippo shout, “Don’t do it, Kagome!” The man said in shock when he see Shippo and Kirara, “What?!?” This cause the group to begin to return to normal that the man quickly put on his human form again while the two Yokai run off. Sango look around and ask, “Strange. What are we doing here?” Kagome notice the jar of jewel shards in her hands and said, “Wait, what was I doing?” The head of the village said, “You were going to let me look at them.” However, Kagome is smarter and said, “As if. I once meet a old monk whose turn out to be a Kumogashira in disguise. You are obviously a demon in disguise. I can sense a jewel shard, but I don’t know why I didn’t sense it before.”

The smoke demon said, “You are too smart, girl.” He let out a smoke on the three humans. While it put Sango and Miroku under his spell, Kagome doesn’t but she start to fare unconscious and the smoke creature said as he reveal his true form, “I see that you are a miko in training. Those beasts that you keep as pets foil my plans, so I killed those animals as a little payback for a wild animal kill me before I take the rest of your jewel shards.” The smoke demon fly after Shippo and Kirara as Kagome fall into sleep.

Shippo said to Inuyasha, “The head of the village is some kind of smoke monster!” Inuyasha said, “That start to make sense about that guy for why Sango didn’t let Kirara come in with her. When I smell that guy, I couldn’t smell anything from him but smoke.” Just then, the voice of the man said, “Nice of you to noticed, you dog.” The smoke creature appear in the mists and Inuyasha ready himself to fight while the Yokai said to Inuyasha, “When I was alive, I was just a simple peasant whose was murdered by savage animals like you one night when I was camping. When a jewel shard fell in the bonfire near where I was killed, it bring me back as a Enenra, a smoke demon. With the powers to create mists that control people minds, I used it to take over this village to lure others to help me bring in the other jewel shards to me. It was lucky to find that girl with a collection of jewel shards. Maybe I could’ve collected more than one village if that fox and cat didn’t stop me.”

The Enenra try to use Kagome as a human shield, only to see that she have a fox tail. Shippo, still disguised as Kagome, reach inside the Enenra and get his jewel shard, which the Enenra cry out, “No!” Shippo turn back and get far from the Yokai as he call out, “Inuyasha, now!” Inuyasha use the Wind Scar to destroy the Enenra, as it scream its last cry. With the destruction of the Enenra, the mists start cleaning away.

Everyone hear a scream from Miroku’s room, and head there where they see a old woman come out of Miroku’s room and said, “Ah, visitors. I’m the head of the village. Miroku and a not pretty looking woman step out of his room as he said in disbelief, “You both were beautiful young women awhile ago.”

Sango hug Kirara as she said, “It was odd, Kirara. This man and his family.... I saw them as mine for some time.”

After some explaining, the head of the village said, “I was surprised that we were enslaved by a Enenra for months. We should thank your kitsune and cat demon for seeing that Yokai true form and freeing us from the curse.” Shippo said as his face turn red, “It was nothing.” Inuyasha comment in disbelief, “I was the one whose defeated him.”
